Public invited to have their say on proposed changes to the Land Transport Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Rule 2007
New stringent vehicle exhaust emission standards designed to improve air quality and public health are being proposed by the government.
The tougher standards will apply to vehicles when they are first registered for use on New Zealand roads. New vehicle imports will require a documentation check and used vehicle imports will be tested to ensure they meet the required standard. The new standards will not apply to vehicles already registered.
From 25 May 2007 until 9 July 2007 the public is invited to submit their feedback on the proposed changes to the Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Revision [2007] Rule 33001/2.
