Further amendments to Vehicle Equipment Rule 2004 – public consultation

In 2008, the government launched a public consultation on the Vehicle Equipment Rule 2004 to tackle noisy exhausts.

The proposed amendments to the Rule were intended to tighten amended legislation that came into effect on 1 June 2008 so further steps to reduce the impact of noisy exhausts could be taken. 

Submissions have closed and the Minister of Transport is considering these submissions.
