30 September 2009 Fuel excise duty (FED) and road user charges (RUC) increases announced in August take effect from 1 October 2009.
The 3 cent per litre increase includes an annual increase of 1.5 cents per litre scheduled by the previous government. The additional 1.5 cents partially replaces previously planned regional fuel taxes. Read Transport Minister Steven Joyce’s media statement on the beehive website
