The government has confirmed that from 1 August 2011 all taxis operating in our larger centres will be fitted with security cameras in a move designed to enhance the safety of both taxi drivers and their passengers.
The government is putting an extra $9 million towards the SuperGold card public transport scheme as part of a balanced package of measures that will improve efficiency and help ensure the scheme's long-term viability.
