Under 15’s tend to travel as motor vehicle passengers. The 15-24 age group tends be evenly split between being a driver or a passenger, and is also a heavy user of public transport. The older age groups have a greater tendency to be drivers.

Quality of the data Survey based. The survey is designed to capture household travel only and excludes most commercial and freight travel, so will underestimate total personal vehicle travel. Response rate (households with full responses from all members): 2003-2014: 65%-70%.
