CAA provided an update on their Emerging Technology Unit (ETU) and its intentions to create a common way forward on technical and operational development. MBIE has had new partners in the Airspace Integration Trials Programme (AITP) since the last meeting, and reflects on successful trials they had in 2022. MoT gave an update on progress with UTM. An engagement paper is being developed to tease out important concepts, including what a UTM system is and what does New Zealand want going forward. All agencies agreed that moving forward the Drone Leadership Group will expand its focus to include all emerging technology, not just drones.
