These documents should state that there were 8,673 fleeing driver events for the 12-month period up to 31 August 2022. Instead, they state there have been 8,673 fleeing driver events so far this (calendar) year. This is incorrect and an error.
CAA provided an update on their Emerging Technology Unit (ETU) and its intentions to create a common way forward on technical and operational development. MBIE has had new partners in the Airspace Integration Trials Programme (AITP) since the last meeting, and reflects on successful trials they had in 2022. MoT gave an update on progress with UTM. An engagement paper is being developed to tease out important concepts, including what a UTM system is and what does New Zealand want going forward. All agencies agreed that moving forward the Drone Leadership Group will expand its focus to include all emerging technology, not just drones.
