What you need to know
Drones represent an enormous opportunity to improve productivity and efficiency across different parts of New Zealand’s economy. The benefits of drones also come with challenges that require innovative solutions to new and existing regulation.
The drone forums are a way for us to share what we are doing, where we are going and encourage the sector to get involved. Anyone interested in the use of drones in New Zealand can attend.
We hosted the first forum in June 2019 and further forums in November 2019 and August 2020.
Next Event
Drone forum August 2020
Our third forum was solely focussed on the Colmar Brunton drone survey conducted in New Zealand.
Research findings from the 2020 survey were presented by Colmar Brunton and participants were able to ask questions about the research.
Representatives from our ministry, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), Airways New Zealand and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) updated attendees on how the research will be used to inform their work.
You can read the report on the CAA website.
