Public consultation ran from 29 Oct to 17 Dec 2025.
The Government is continuing its work to modernise New Zealand's land transport system with three public consultations opening as part of the Land Transport Rules Reform programme.
The consultations will cover:
- reviewing Warrant of Fitness (WoF) and Certificate of Fitness A (CoF A) frequency and inspection requirements for light vehicles
- simplifying heavy vehicle permitting
- considering additional safety requirements for vehicles entering the fleet
The consultations opened to the public on 29 October and will close on 17 December.
