A step-by-step best practice guide to making and amending transport rules has been released online, accessible to anyone with an interest in how regulations are made.
The Rules Development Framework splits the rule making process into five steps, providing tools and templates, recommended processes and information at each step.
The framework has been developed by the Ministry, Maritime New Zealand, the Civil Aviation Authority and the NZ Transport Agency, and is designed primarily for officials in the Ministry and transport Crown entities.
